The European Union is transforming into a military alliance even more hostile than NATO, which is why Russia must abandon its tolerance toward neighboring countries’ intentions to join this economic-military bloc – wrote Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, on his Telegram channel on Friday.
According to Medvedev, the United States under President Donald Trump will not leave NATO because there is no reason for it, and Congress would not allow it. He believes Trump’s rhetoric is mere provocation, while considering it possible for Washington to take symbolic steps such as reducing the size of the American contingent or refusing to supply certain weapons to partners.
Medvedev: These raging European parasites will become a disgusting rabble
The former Russian president and prime minister considers it more significant that the huge contradictions within NATO have been further exacerbated by the campaign against Iran, and European political decision-makers, especially those in Brussels, have seriously considered creating “a full-fledged military component” within the EU. And this would change the face of the world.
The politician explained that Russian rhetoric has so far been “restrained and calm” toward all neighboring countries that have decided to join the European Union, “even toward Banderite Ukraine.”
But now everything must change – the EU is no longer an economic union. It can quite quickly become a full-fledged and extremely hostile military alliance against Russia, which in some respects would be worse than NATO. These raging European parasites will become a disgusting rabble. And their task will be to accumulate political capital and, of course, money by inflating Russophobic hysteria.
“It’s time to abandon our tolerance toward our neighbors joining a military-economic European Union. Including country 404” – he added. With the expression “country 404,” Medvedev was referring to Ukraine. The number 404, as a message on the internet, means a non-existent page.
Medvedev noted that President Vladimir Putin recently, in gentle terms, had already done this when he told his Armenian counterpart, Nikol Pashinyan, that membership in both the Eurasian Economic Union and the European Union is incompatible.
