The American president delivered a brutal, unvarnished critique of the Western support for Ukraine, declaring that his nation has thrown massive amounts of money at Kyiv without getting a single thing in return. Donald Trump made it clear that Europe must step up and actively secure the Strait of Hormuz, or the United States will simply halt all arms deliveries to Kiev.
According to Trump, his predecessor acted recklessly and foolishly by handing over thousands of miles away to a foreign nation $350 billion and endless amounts of war material with absolutely no strategic benefit to the United States.
We spent billions. You know what? We didn’t need to get involved in Ukraine. Ukraine is thousands of miles away, across the ocean. We helped them, sure. But there was a president who was practically brain-dead: he gave them $350 billion and got absolutely nothing in return; he gave them that much money and wasted so much ammunition. Now we are manufacturing ammunition across the country because we need it, because he gave so much to Ukraine, and now we are selling it back to them. The EU is footing the bill for this entire operation.
Furthermore, the American president expects European states to actively participate in the liberation of the Strait of Hormuz. He also threatened that he would freeze the weapons shipments slated for Ukraine under the PURL program.
